In a well written paragraph tell the differences between the greasers and the socs. Use the book with page numbers and paragraph numbers.
There are many differences between the greasers and the Socs but the main difference is that the Socs are very rich and the greasers are very poor(page 3 paragraph 1). There are other differences like how the Socs jump greasers and wreck houses for fun while the greasers have gang fights, steal things, and hold up gas stations(page 3 paragraph 1). Also, the Socs drive nice cars while greasers drive old, beat up cars(page 3 paragraph 1). Greasers also have long greasy hair and dress in blue jeans and T-shirts (page 3 paragraph 1) while the Socs have madras shirts and are shaven clean(page 5 paragraph 2). The greasers are very dirty and almost like hoods, but the Socs can public disgraces one day then the next day they are assets to society(page 3 paragraph 1). These are some of the many differences between Socs and greasers.

We all know that the fifth commandment is: Thou shall not kill. With that in mind, tell me what you would be feeling AND what you would do now if you were Johnny at the end of Chapter 4.
If I was Johnny at the end of chapter four I would feel terrible about killing Bob. If I had killed Bob and I killed someone else later on I would go insane with guilt. Even though it was for self-defense I would never forgive myself. I would hide away for a long time and I would never carry that knife that I used to kill Bob ever again. I know it would be to save a friend but it is still very wrong and I would always remember that terrible day. This is how I would feel if I was Johnny.

B. Explain what Ponyboy finds out about Randy and the other Socs at the end of Chapter 7.
At the end of chapter 7 Ponyboy finds out that Randy and some of the other Socs are not that bad after all. Randy tells Ponyboy that he wants all the fighting to stop and Ponyboy realizes that some of the Socs are just people who don't like to fight. Randy also tells Ponyboy that he is going to get all that he can carry and run away before the big fight. I think it took a lot for Randy to tell Ponyboy all that he told him. I would never have told him that if I were Randy. I probably would not even tell my friends. It took a lot for Randy to tell Ponyboy all of that.
~So what does that tell you about Randy? Have you changed your mind about him or about the other Socs? ~Mrs. Best

If we really don't like someone we can try to be as kind as we can to them and they might want to get to know us better. If you get to know each other better, you might find that you can be better friends than you thought. You can also
